Laura Waldron began her sales career at Princeton University Press, managing the special sales and international programs. She left Princeton to become a field rep, representing 15 university Presses to accounts in the mid-Atlantic. For 25 years, she was the Marketing & Sales Director at the University of Pennsylvania Press before bringing her passion for the publishing business to the University of Chicago Press in 2022.

Jeremy Scott Tescher was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and holds an MA in Literature from Brooklyn College. Working in bookstores through college, his Sales career began in publishing twenty years ago at Oxford University Press in Manhattan. He's since worked for Penguin and Macmillan, working with retailers as diverse as Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Target, and Hudson News, as well as K-12 school districts all around New York State, and at present has the great pleasure of selling to independent bookstores and museum bookshops all across the northeastern United States for the University of Chicago Press and its many distribution client presses. He lives with his family outside Princeton, NJ.

Gary Hart has been peddling books for more than 30 years, beginning as an assistant in the Sales Department at Viking Penguin in New York. Following a second in-house sales position in Penguin Children’s Books, Hart became a Penguin field sales rep, first in New England and then the San Francisco Bay Area. In San Francisco, Hart was hired as the University of Chicago Press’s first West Coast house rep, responsible for independent and museum bookshops in a territory that for many years also included selling to New York City accounts and Baker & Taylor. Now based in Los Angeles, Hart covers the West Coast and Southwest, including Texas.

Bailey Walsh has been a sales rep with Chicago since 2000. He began his book career haunting the bookstores of Boston before landing his first job there in 1988 as a bookseller at Avenue Victor Hugo Book Shop. Before coming to Chicago, he spent a decade as a bookseller, store manager, and book buyer in Rockville, MD, and Ann Arbor, MI. He has been a finalist for PW Rep of the Year. Conveniently, his personal reading interests are aligned with the Chicago list and those of the many other publishers we represent. He travels the wide center of the country from his base in Wisconsin.
