Nelson Algren
Nelson Algren (1909–81) lived most of his life in Chicago. He won the National Book Award in 1950 for The Man with the Golden Arm. His works include A Walk on the Wild Side, Never Come Morning, The Devil’s Stocking, The Neon Wilderness, and his urban portrait, Chicago: City on the Make.
