The North America Native Museum, Zurich emerged from a private collection of Native American artifacts acquired by the city of Zurich in 1961. Hartwig Isenhagen was professor of American literature at the University of Basel from 1981–2004. He curated an exhibition of Bodmer’s work at the North America Native Museum, Zurich in 2009.
