Behold the Eyes
Taking inspiration from Marcel Proust’s invitation to "behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, this new work
Behold the Eyes of a Hundred Others takes inspiration from Marcel Proust’s invitation to “behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others,” celebrating the extraordinary range and enduring power of photography, inviting readers to see the world through new eyes.
Featuring more than 100 masterworks from the private collection of Richard Grosbard, the catalogue spans photography’s origins in the nineteenth century to the present day. Organized thematically rather than chronologically, it brings together artists across generations, geographies, and photographic traditions. The collection encompasses portraiture, architecture, industrial and urban landscapes, photograms, abstraction, sculpture, landscape, and still life.
Moving between historical documentation, experimentation, and art, Behold the Eyes of a Hundred Others reveals photography’s singular ability to reshape how we understand people, places, and moments. More than a survey of photography, it is an invitation to look differently.
